Did you know last year's 2nd grade wrote a book "A Bird Walk in Monticello Park" that you can buy on Amazon? It's all about birds you can see at Monticello Park. They describe each bird, so you can use the Merlin Bird app to identify them.  The profits of the book were donated to support the park.  You can listen to Ms. Lockwood read the book here.

Bird Watching

Getting started with the Merlin Bird App.  When you first start the Merlin Bird App, you have to load it up with the birds in your area.  You do that by installing "Bird Packs".  It will suggest the proper Bird Pack by using your location from your iPad.


How to Build a Birdfeeder

Here are some bird feeders you can make using common household materials.  Place them in a tree near the house and start bird watching!
